In 1993, Abbeyfeale was given the opportunity to host Fleadh Cheoil Luimnigh, a significant event in traditional Irish music. The success of the 1993 and 1994 events inspired the local committee to create their own festival, and so, in 1995, Fleadh by the Feale was born. Held annually over the May Bank Holiday weekend, the festival has grown to become one of Ireland’s most celebrated traditional music gatherings. In 2025, the festival will take place from the 1st to the 5th of May.
